MICHELS insolvency administration/restructuring is one of the leading chambers in the field of carrying out insolvency proceedings as well as in the area of restructuring and redeveloping companies through self-administration. In particular, we are active in the field of self-administration as consultants for company managements as well as in the capacity of trustees.
Our objective is to redevelop and safeguard companies who have entered a critical phase in times of economic downturn, to redevelop and safeguard them. Together with the relevant stakeholders and the company in crisis, we work out solutions, which take into account the best possible protection for creditors but also the interests of the company – in as far as possible in the legal and actual sense.
We particularly focus on safeguarding jobs. We look for socially acceptable solutions and endeavour to avoid a full devaluation of any section of a business in economic crisis, especially after the legislation on the facilitation of company redevelopment (Gesetz zur Erleichterung der Sanierung von Unternehmen (ESUG)) took effect. This has been in place since 1st March 2012.
